My albino cichlid has made a clearing of the stones in one corner of the tank behind the rocks. I have done some studding and I know that they do that to breed but he/she doesn’t move from that spot and it has been like that for 2 weeks now. He/she doesn’t allow the other cichlid near there just the convict. My blood parrot has also made a clearing in his\hear crevice in the rocks and also doesn’t allow any other fish except the convict there. The blood parrot and albino cichlid were like vibrating fines to each other but now they always fight when they get together. My tiger cichlid won’t allow any of my fish in the far right corner of the tank but hasn't made a clearing in the stones. Could anybody tell me what’s going on?

I hope you are running a massive tank, because those okes are going to need one soon.

They can and will grow up to 45cm (in the wild), regardless of the size of the tank, and to the detriment of water quality.

It horrifies me that someone can keep Oscar, not even knowing what they are, nevermind how to care for them.

That Black one is a very odd colour though, I've never seen one like it. Maybe it's just a bad photo?

Oh and I believe that is a Lutino Oscar, not an Albino.

My understanding is that Albinos are defective in colour pigmentation, thus are pure white with red eyes, and have only half the lifespan of "normal" creatures.

Oscars will also live up to 20 years, if cared for properly.

No stress Fish Fantasy, I was chatting to Wito via PM at the time as well.

Seems a bit harsh if you only take the public view in mind.

But ja I didn't know much about Oscars in the beginning, and still don't know about other fish compared to most guys here.

Oscars are just my fish of choice, and close to my heart so I get a bit up tight.

Cool! You were right about putting an oscar in that size tank but now he knows he has to jack himself up abit and do some proper research!
