    Hi my fellow fishy friends.

Was wondering about this on my way to work this morning.

So lets see if we can get a couple of inputs on this topic.

Please state whether you got a planted, low tech planted tank or non planted

NB please mention what type of tube your are using and the kelvin rating.

So I just recently got my lights for my tank, and I bought the wrong tube 12000k a bit hectic, So I replaced it with a Sylvania daylight 6500k I will be getting another ballasts and will then get a Osram Skywhite 8000k tube.

I will only be planting about 6 - 7 species of plants for my Tiger barbs setup.

Ferns, Sword species, Crypts, Anubias, Bacopa's and Vallis.

Come on guys lets get a couple of replies on this thread.

This will also be good info for beginners/newbies in this wonderful hobby of ours.

    Happy fishy days.

    I have the following:
    12l quarantine/fry grow out tank - 8w 1ft T5 6000k
    100l Heavily planted (no ferts) - 25w Red Boyu T8 (6500k), 2x20w White Boyu T8 (6500k)
300l Planted Community tank - 54w Aquastar(10000k) tube and a 54w Radium Bonalux Super Skylux (8000k) currently running DIY CO2 to be changed to pressurised CO2 - Will probably add another 2x54w 6500k to the setup when the equipment arrives

    ok cool then, I will be getting 1 x 8000k tube tomorrow. So I will be running 1 x 6500k 54w T5 and 1 x 8000k 54w T5 for my tank.

The 6500k with the reflector already lights up my tank nicely.

I'm not really a strong believer in the importance of correct light.
