what is this fish

    hey guys feeling a bit dom today so
    I got 2 of these when I bought a tank for a marine setup from a mate .no idea what it is its about 8cm .i have it with the malawis now ,not sure if i should risk putting them with the jardini .thanks

    Looks to me like some kind of Botia?? Probaly a Polkadot botia??

    Can you get a clearer pic??

    is definately a botia,looks almost like a tiger botia but the pic is not so clear?

    no sorry g .when i come near the tank it hides in the driftwood ,seems more active at night

    It looks like a YOYO Loach/Pakistani loach.

    Its not a Pakistani loach or a tiger botia, the markings are different! I'm not even convinced of my guess of a Polkadot.... the only reason I believe it could be a polkadot is becasue their markings can change quite radically!

    I'll get back to you, but if you do manage to get a better pic, it would help a lot!

    Hmm... You say its 8cm?? A Yoyo Loach shouldn't be that reticulated by 8cm. Or that green! But I really cannot find what else it could be?

    The only other thing is its some sort of cross between maybe a Yoyo and a Tiger? I'm not even sure thats possible?

    I'll keep digging a little deeper....

    Yes, I give in!! I agree to it being a Yoyo, but am still surprised it is that reticulated at such a small size! Usually doesn't happen til they are over 10cm!

    I think the greenish brown colour is actually a side effect inside the camera?
