What filtration do we all use in our tanks.

Hi all was wondering what filtration we all use in our tanks also what filter media is used with your filtration. I use 1 x aquaclear 200 with matrix, sponge and filter floss then I have 1 x Dolphin F-1200 with matrix, aquaclear biomax and sponge.

This will be very informative also state what size tank you have this in. Mine is in a 96 liter tank. Soon all will be moved over to my 1.7 meter tank which I might get next weekend.

And if you use a sump also inform us what media you use.

 

In my 100l community tank I have a corner filter on the left hand side with bottom section Boyu Bio Ceramic and Seachem Matrix, black sponge, finer black sponge, fine "filter floss type" material and the upper section has the same except that on top of the fine "filter floss type" material there is purigen and actual filter floss. In my Boyu 603e sub filter I have done a diy - Filter floss at the intake, black foam, Matrix and Bio Ceramic, Purigen and finally black foam again.

In my 30l female guppy and neon tank I have a corner filter setup the same way as above and a cheapy (can't remember the brand) submersable filter that I've modded to accomodate Matrix.

In my 12l I have a standard sponge filter

 

my 6ft tank has 2 x aquaclear 500s with the sponge inserts, biomax and a fluval 204 cannister with sponge and ceramic noodles.

100l discus tank has aqual clear 50 and 20 both running sponge and biomax.

 

My 4 foot i have 2 x tetratec ex 700 with sponge, ceramic rings, seachem matrix and bioballs

 

5 foot, Tetratec EX1200. Bio Balls, ceramic rings, sponges, Charcoal bags
Boyu Powerhead Filter 1500 ltr/h. Purigen and sponge

Nano, Cascade 80 HOB. Standard sponge and charcoal filter. Gonna add Matrix soon.

Sponge
Carbon, replaced after 1 month by cutting existing bag, refill, and using zipties to close again. Much cheaper than buying the original one.

Dophin H800 HOB, lots of space to pimp it with matrix, extra sponge etc, still got to get to that though, standard at the moment......Dophin F800 internal, still standard also to be pimped a bit soon. 60L tank. Dophin H80 HOB with sponge....undergravel filter. 30L tank.

 

4 foot: Eheim 2217 with sponge, matrix, floss and purigen.
3 foot: 2X 1200 lph river manifold system with sponges.

 

3foot:400lph in tank sump filter.

 

Fluval 204 on 3ft with ceramic media and matrix.
4ft has a 3ft sump with filer wool, hair curlers, pot scourers, gravel,and some bio balls.

 

3ft with a Cascade 600, filter media is the sponge that came with it and some ceramic rings.

 

450L tank eheim pro 2228 canister and built in hood filter. 320L cube eheim 2228 profesional canister.

 

Malawi Neighbourhood, is 2x 200L tanks connected with Waterbridge:
1x 4000L/h DIY cannister splits into both tanks, media filterfloss, onion bags and Matrix.
2x HOB - Eheim 150, media - Ceramic Rings and Sponge.

3ft - 500 dolphin canister filter

 

On the 3500L pool/pond I use 2 filters one is 80L plastic rubbish bin with 15kg crushed (fist size) lava rock the other is a 100L round plastic container with also about 15kg lava rock with filter mat for the fine stuff and two Tetra 1200s in parallel.

On the 2.4m tank a Eheim canister with only bio media and glass corner filter with bio balls and filter mat.

On the two 540Ls 5kg of lava rock each with filter mat
