So we arrived in Tokyo, and this is the city, well, a VERY small part of one of the roads here...

And Anyhoo, onto ADA... Nature Aquarium Party 2012 at the Tokyo International Forum.

This is the entrance that greeted us for the announcement of the winners:

Angus (Algae Wizard) with his camera:

The view from where we were standing:

One of the many stands displaying the top 100 results: One of these looks mighty familiar???

Into the hall for the big announcements:

Where we saw another very familiar image:

This was the winner of the IAPLC 2012. A stunning display, which the judges actually criticized quite a lot:

And then this was the winner of the PEOPLES CHOICE!

Onwards to the After Party!! The man gives a speech.

Then Angus was chosen to do an iwagumi layout for a lucky draw prize... Very Fetching in his little yellow Bib!!

    Choosing his materials:

The Result of his toil and trouble:

    Amano gave him a 7!!

And he looked damned happy about Mr amano beating him!!

Ok, picture time! I'm not going to waste anyones time with Buddist temples and Imperial Gardens... This is what we came to Japan for! Just a few quick ones before bed. We're off to the gallery tomorrow morning. I travel at 06:30 to have a few face time meetings with ADA and Angus catches a later bullet train at 08:30... Basterd.

    Anyway, on with the show!!

    The 4m Nature Aquarium...

It's incredible, to say the least...

We met up with Frank Wazeter from ADG:

And Angus in front of the tank...

This is the 7m Nature Aquarium... this picture was taken to give you a sense of how big this thing really is:

There is just no way to get a proper pic of this tank with all the attention it receives.
    From the one side:

Hope you enjoyed the pics... More will follow soon!

Ok, the last batch. It's almost 1am and I'm moeg...

The ADA Gallery Entrance in Niigata

The first thing you see when you walk in:

    The Gallery:

    Guy pointing at something:

    A couple of tanks:

A 60P with the Aquasky 602 (Which I have in my luggage!!) So I recon it might grow some plants?

    Another 60P
    [IMG]

One of the bigger gallery tanks:

Pic taken on top of the gallery... Mr Amano is becoming aggressive!!

This is on the wall of his house:

And then his tank... It has been running for 11 years, unchanged, except for tripping and fish choices. It is a true masterpiece, and pictures simply cannot do this tank any justice whatsoever. It is the absolute high lite of my entire trip. What an incredible experience.

Awesome Sean. All those tanks look so natural. Can see why he made a living out of his hobby. So what will this trip have in stall for us South africans product wise? I was looking at their canister filters, any chance of getting those imported aswell?

Yes, they will be imported as soon as they make them 240v compatible. Which is apparently happening soon. That as well as some of their other items like lighting. The Aquasky LED units are already multi voltage compliant, so that's already a step in the right direction.

There will be tanks, cabinets, all the ferts, etc on the next order. Containers are landing in the next couple of months.
