Hey guys so this morning I feed my fish as normal , but the whole flake tin sorta thing fell in and all the flakes whent in the tank. NOT COOL!:sad2: So i thought that the fish will try and eat all the food so I tried to scoop all of it out. Then it sank to the bottom also NOT COOL! Then everything when fuzzy and blurry so I tried to get rid of it by doing water changes also didn't work. So by this time i had to put the fish in a bucket of tap water with declorinator. long story short fish died. 1 angel 4 neons 2 fire neons and 1 pleco. I am thinking of getting a HOB because my U/G filter did nothing to the water to filter it. :sad2::sad2::sad2::wondering::wondering::wondering:
Shame man! Sorry to hear this. HOBs work awesomely. What size tank is it, and if you can, try get an aquaclear.
That SUCK!!!! About 2 weeks ago i nearly did that to my poor little pufferfish... It happened when i fed the fish in the tank on the shelf above him and i nearly dropped the whole fishfood container.... Luckily i had put a piece of glass over his cage the previous day... THAT PIECE OF GLASS SAVE HIS LIFE!!!
That sucks! Hope the others pull through. HOB's work great, although I find them limiting sometimes. Maybe consider the DIY build too? UG's only works well in principle, not practice IMO PS. Thanks @Vez for the pepper grinder idea!
Shame, really sucks. A bit late now, but do you have one of those vacuum siphon things? If not, I suggest you get one, they are really worth having. You could have used it to vacuum all the food off the bottom of the tank.
