well i joined the cracked tank fellowship this weekend

hey guys well, it was bound to happen sooner or later i suppose but i was just about to leave yesterday afternoon to spend the night at my boyfriend when i glanced at the tank i got cycling for the betta fry in the garage, its a 3ft and was full but nothing quite describes the sickening feeling of seeing a three quarter empty tank where a full one once stood, so i rescued the female betta as she's been in there for health reasons and drained the tank, moved the betta to my spare 1ft and left for edenvale. when i got home today i was really hoping it was the silicone that had gone as it is a second hand tank but alas the bottom panel is cracked, very close to the end of the tank which i find odd. anyhow lesson learned i should have put some polystyrene down before filling the tank. now i have to fix it before i leave as the fry have to go in before i leave for the coast on the 16th. i have 3 options, patch it with silicone, take it to the place up the road who builds tanks and ask if they could replace the bottom for me or replace it myself. i'll have to phone tomorrow and get a quote from the shop and then another one for glass and ompare the 2 but im leaning toward the second. i dont know what i'm doing and in all honesty i would rather pay the lil extra and be sure it last while im away than for the whole thing to fall apart on the house sitters.

it seems that something always goes wrong just before you leave for holiday, did i mention that the filter in my betta setup had also packed in? lol one thing after another i swear.
