It was a car with a camera and just drove. You can tell if you find a car, then move towards it, clever!

 

I know ive seen them. orange cars with cameras on top and the sides

 

Been playing with google street view for a while now, pretty awesome...

 

Me too! Amazing! Even blurs out the cars number plates. I just found out the people
renting out our house in cape town has a land rover as well as a horse trailer lol

One of their cars came past our house recently. They have some cameras pretty high up, which is a little dodgy when thinking about privacy...

 

What a trip! Visited the strand, from there made a quick stop by my house then quickly shot to brooklyn bridge....awesome view! On my way to the empire state building, then..... PARIS baby!

 

It is awesome! I was checking out my friends house and can see her father standing topless in the front yard watering the garden! Ha ha ha

 

Just as well it wasn't her mother!! Lol!

Not sure who has access to an android phone - but with a data plan, built-in GPS google love such as maps, latitude,goggles, sky map and now street view in SA it is seriously scary how easy it is to use geo based services and explore related content from a hand-held device. Not to mention all the social networking tools all integrated on a single platform.

What I find amazing is the number of estates and security complexes that allowed the street view camera to roam the neighborhood.

 

I wonder how many criminals are going to use this to check and see which houses have burglar bars etc? Scary when you think about it.....

 

Indeed .. you can request to have your property's images removed from street view ... wonder when the insurance industry will start making it a risk factor and increase installments if your information is either available on social networks or things like street view.

 

Its only what you can see from the road so its a public place. Can't be that bad

 

On my desire just now I was chatting to a friend on gtalk and he pasted a link to streetview/maps and when I "clicked" it and it gave me a choice of what to open it in, when I chose Maps then it went straight to the streetview. Loads very fast.

Pretty damn cool. I've done quite a bit of browsing on streetview on my phone and it actually doesn't use that much data.

 

This is awesome! A friend and I have been viewing each other's houses for the past few minutes. I was just saying to him how easy this makes house hunting.

Now you just go to google maps, if everything looks good on the outside, and the area is nice, then all you need to do is check the inside. Atleast you're not wasting your time driving around looking for a decent neighbourhood

 

I saw one of these cars I just wish I could remember where so that i can go look if i'm there
