Do you perhaps have pics of the rocks and setup? Did you do the Vinegar test?

@Quue - I have had a pink water experience... and so have a few others! I discovered that there is a red algae that is waterborne - a few waterchanges cleared it up.

Vinegar test: take one of the rocks out of the tank and drop some vinegar or pool acid onto it. If the rock fizzes or bubbles, then its not aquarium safe.

@allyzone - green water is also algae, but a different problem... lets not derail this thread! Do a search on green water and see what you find - there will be plenty!

Hey @Quue, do the test as @tracyp has said. The test is for Calcite. This stuff makes water extremely hard. And it will leech into the water. So generally unsafe in aquariums. HTH

What substrate is that? Is that not the problem? Looks like you have soil capped with gravel?

@Quue - How did you put the water in. Did you pour it onto a plate or anything like that? I think it's your soil that's got into your water column?

Maybe you could switch all the pumps etc off for an hour and see if it settles. If so, then you could probably use something like Seachem Clarity to bind the particles.
