Water parameters

    Hi, do anyone know what the water parameters need to be to grow aquatic plants succsesfully? Or maybe some site that could be of help? Thanks

    Pretty much the same perameters that you keep you average Community Tank in. The only additional requirement I will add is that the water needs to within the 4-6 degrees GH, and similar kH. I know the Cape water is very soft.

    Other than that, pH of between 6.6-7.8 should be ok for most plants.

    Plants tend to be more forgiving with water perameters, but a very good question none-the-less

    I think what is more important is what type of planted tank you want to go for:
    * Low tech
    * Medium tech or
    * high tech.

    Obviously each type will have it's own additions with regards to light, fertilizers and CO2.
