    Hi All

Wondered if anyone could give me some advise to keep my water crystal clear.
My water stays in good condition for less than a week and then becomes murky and unclear.
I am not over-feeding my fish and have the tank away from the direct sun. I dont think its a problem with algae either.

    Any advise?
Its a 90L tank and real job having to change water so often:mad:

    You could do the following.

Add Carbon or Purigen to your filter, this can act as water polishers.
I have also seen huge improvements in water clarity by using a UV light.

I can vouch for that. UV Sterilizer is awesome. Unfortunately the tube is expensive so its better to keep it on a 12 hour timer!

Hi Ratex. You would still need to do your weekly water changes even with a uv light.
Even though your tank may look clean there could and most likely be bad things going on in there. Remember there's no such thing as over filtration, so maby look at increasing the filtration. What fillter do you have anyway. Regular WC is part of fish keeping

    Hi Fish_Fry

I do change my water weekly. About 50% of it and 100% of it monthly.
I found a great shop regarding fish yesterday and the owner has been breeding and inporting fish for 40 years.
Tones of equipment for sale! And only a 45 min drive from where I am.
    Im going down this weekend!

Thinking of buying a ground filter to add to my tank as well as new Tablet food that is known help with the condition of the water as well..

I will upday on my water condition.

    Thanks

    Hi Ratex
For how long has the tank been running? Is it cycled
100% wc monthly is an over kill, stick to the 50% weekly
IMO ground filters or UGF are dirt traps and a waste of money.
"new Tablet food that is known help with the condition of the water" sounds like a fib, Stick to the regular WC.

Khalid. Good quality food is beter for water conditions. Cheap food have more crap in that will only be crapped out and increase the bio load. That is maybe why the guys producing the "new tablets' can make such claims.

Things might not be going to lekka because the tank may not have cycled yet. Do you have a test kit? If not, take a water sample to your lps and ask if they'll test it for you, this will give some insight on whats going on in there.
