water changes

    Hey everyone

    I finally stocked my tank :) I got a marble pleco, a rainbow shark, 2 dwarf gouramis, 2 blue rams, 1 sailfin molly and 2 black skirted tetras.

    The guy at the LFS suggested I do 40% water changes every two weeks. I was thinking of doing 20% every week just because it would be more manageable. Is one week after stocking a tank too soon to do a water change?

    No I do not think so, I did it with all mine. With the new bioload there will be a sudden spike of values and with a water change this early you are helping to keep it down.

    how big is your tank? you could even do 10% water changes twice a week. what ever you choose stick to it and do it regularly. dont skip one

    So get a big bucket and change 12l twice a week and that will give you your 10% easy as pie.
