Don't feed any of those that. don't need it and it can get them hooked off of pellets

I hope you have a pond

I don't like the feeder route, but each to their own. I'm sure you're well aware of the risks associated with feeders. Most good brands for carnivores these days have equal or better nutritional quality as live food, and frozen seafoods (while maybe losing some nutritional quality in the freezing/defrosting process), is definitely cheaper.

If you want to keep this up (even as a treat), set up your own breeders. This will ensure you've got healthy stock, and you can ensure that they're appropriately fed for maximum nutrition. Plus you'll save money in the long run.

    Regards,

I agree with @SalmonAfrica, am not a fan of feeders.

If you do want to feed unprocessed food, a trip to the fish counter of your local supermarket will provide a good diet - all sort of fish fillets, shrimp, prawn, mussel etc.
Silversides are good as these are consumed whole, organs and all,.

If you can convert your predatory fish to pellets, Hikari do a very good range including Massivore. Most designed with a high protein content

I wonder how long we will be able to import fish from overseas before all gets banned? Just wondering.

    Going a bit off topic??

Some of the "do gooders" tried that here a few years ago.
They tried to stop the import of any wild animal, including aquarium fish - wild or tank bred. Saying it was cruel to keep them in tanks yadda yadda.
The only fish that would have escaped this would have been native UK fish and goldfish.
From what I can gather, nothing came of it, but I guess the issue can always rear it's head again

Not really, there are 2 illegals on that species list, one being highly invasive. It's weird how it's just ignored as if it's the norm, probably is. I'm no tree huger but it's just a matter of time before the authorities will say screw it and enforce a total ban. If you look at this thread, it's basically members and a mod giving advice on raising illegals publicly. It doesn't look good.

    I agree with @Reedfish and @SalmonAfrica ...

Think carefully....If you go the feeder fish route, you run the risk of introducing all sorts of nasties into your tank
Also.. those fish get used to feeders and then, to get them to eat anything else is a hell of a job..

They also very big fish and will grow very fast and soon they will be eating a sardine size feeder instead of a R10 feeder or.. you will need plenty feeders
Our Datnoids came in used to feeders.. some have taken 5 months of starvation to get them to take food

If you breed your own feeders, the amount you need will cost you more to feed, raise, etc than to go to the fish market and buy frozen food and pellets

Just my take on it.... obviously each person has their own way of doing things..

I must admit, I gave advise on feeders... did not pay attention to BL and was not intended at any encouraging of BL species

On looking...There is 1 BL species on that list. The Bass, assuming its peacock bass....it doesn't specify

Yes, they do take pellets.. just persist
Also a lot cheaper to use some tilapia or something that you can find than feeders
