    Hi guys, and gals

I am looking for a fish to put in my 2 foot tank, I had an Oscar that use to allow me to hand feed it and would scratch it's self on my hand.He died after the tank broke. Dew to space restraints I only have a two foot tank and was wondering if there was any thing else I might get that would be as affectionate?

Suggestion...make the 2footer a planted tank with about 15 betta females. A tank like that is just awesome to look at...I currently have a 60l 2footer like this and I'm not changing it :)

    Cheers

Cool, I can imagine I already have 2 females and there stunning.

I would like a bigger fish 1 or 2 that is a little more interactive?

Betta females are very interactive....they'll also come and eat from your hand once they are comfortable in their environment. They'll get so relaxed that they will constantly swim around your hand/arm if you do some maintenance in the tank.

But, if it's bigger you want, then I'll recommend you go for some Redtailed Rasbora Sciccortails or Torpedo Barbs (if you can find these there by you).

    Cheers
    Dale

I wouldn't suggest you put males together in one tank with a "Betta Barracks" as I personally believe it's cruel. They won't be happy and will soon die actually. THe Betta Barracks are normally just used in petshops.

You can add one male to the tank if you really want to, but don't be surprised if they bully & possibly kill him if he can't stand his ground against them. Normally one male to per 3 females is ok, but I don't like creeping above this as females start their crap by nipping the male's fins and after a few days, he's dead.

Trust me, a betta female tank only looks absolutely awesome...more so if they are all cambodian, pastel & opague females. I must take a pic of my tank for you to have a look at to get an idea

Will probably post tonight or tomorrow morning

Well plant your tank lekka and leave the temp at about 26deg with a 'fish colour enhancement' light as well as light fit for plant growth.

Go have a check at Panorama Pets...they have about 7 or 8 left in stock for R 85 per pop if I'm not mistaken

Wingman.....go look at the last pics of this thread. This is the tank I'm talking about...those babies are much bigger and I'll take updated pics. I'll try and get the same light colour on the pic as it is much more colour intensive with the real eye.

Here they are...sorry for the delay. These betta fry are from my White & Blue DoubleTail I had.

Excuse the floating plants....will plant some of them once I add CO2 to this tank.
