Using Fish-waste and Tank-lighting to produce veggies

    Hey Guys

    Thought ya'll would be interested in this.

    This is cylindrical aquarium that filters the fish waste into a seperate container, that feeds the vegatables that are growing under the light of the aquarium!
    Quite Clever hey!!

    i wouldn't eat that lettuce esp if i see ornamental fish in the tank

    Hahaha @BigFish! So you say you wouldnt eat carrots, fertilized with manure when you see the horses and cows trotting past?

    Carrots juice i love until the juice machine packed in. Manure is natural. Eating too much will just make you puke

    Ornamentals are often treated during shipping/arrival or in the tank with chemical treatments formalin malachite green etc (carcinogens & what not)

    Yes its called Aquaponics
    I heard about this also on Talk raido 702 today
    Seeing food prices are gonna rise +-20% so this was one of the topics around 8:30 in the morning
    Not a bad idea at all tbh!!
    but the dude was saying he was doing this with meat fish (to eat) and then the vegi to be planted above the tank

    nifty idea, but all i see is angels, gouramis, platys and neons all in one tiny little tank, bad combination - recipe for disaster.

    Im sure those fish were added just for visual's on the day of the demo.
