Update on my tanks

Hi

Firstly let me apologize for the quality of the attached photos, now that that’s out the way let me begin.

Ok, I haven’t done much on the forum for a couple months now. I attempted an underwater “waterfall†and failed miserably. Don’t ask for photo’s coz there aren’t any (esp none showing a flooded lounge or sand being sprayed around like a volcano instead of trickling like a waterfall).

I have however “acquired†two more tanks. I now have 3 in total, a 500Litre community tank, 350Litre Malawi tank and a 100Litre planted tank (MTS is a &*%#). Once I built the 4foot/100litre planted tank I thought I’d build something special for the lid (see attached photo’s).

The Malawi tank was straight forward, I welded together a steel stand, put a board on top of it then the tank, then added water and let it cycle for a month and bought some fish. (see attached photos)

The 500litre I’ve had for almost 2 years now, it is on the forum somewhere http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/showthread.php?t=113 . Only thing I’ve done recently is empty it, clean it and rearrange the ‘décor’. (once again, photo’s are attached, if they aren’t I’ll add them later..)

Awesome looking tanks and quite a unique drinking canopy you have there with the booze and all

 

Hey thanks,
Fish relax me, so does a little booze every now and then, so I thought of combining them
Fish don't drink, alcohol that is, so a canopy was the nex best thing.

 

I like the low maintenance approach - tanks look good.
