    hi guys, just got myself a 4ft busy setting it up just added some water to measure the level of the tank and the water level is not even on all 4 corners. the 2 corners on the one side are level but the opposite side of the tanks water level is about 6-8mm lower. im pretty sure its my floor that is uneven. my stand (square tubing frame) is sitting on tiles

    should i be worried? i know that there will now be more pressure to one side of the tank ive read that a lot of people struggle to get the level dead even and that if its slightly off its fine??

    you can use some sheet metal shims under the stand legs to even out the tank. They are about 1-2mm thick a piece and the hardware shops should have them

    @papoy

    I have the same problem with my place...very uneven tiling.
    My Malawi tank is on a cabinet stand and is also lower on one corner (My mistake...never checked it when i set it up)
    It will be corrected soon but what i have noticed is that water tends to "spill" on the lower side mostly and this in turn is dripping on the cabinet.
    Wood and water don't mix well and it really worries me that the cabinet is getting weaker on the one side.

    My 2c ....try and get the stand level as possible.

    Add some spacers (I used some washers on the 6ft tank stand) to try and get it as even as possible.

    This WILL save you a lot of worries and effort later on

    As been said before... metal plates (Shims) around 1 to 2mm thick should be placed under the legs to level off the uneven sections. Yes, it is dangerous to have a tank that is out of level. I have personally had a tank "spontaneously" (Meaning I came home and found it) burst on me. I knew the water pressure was slightly higher on one corner than the rest, and an engineer did some quick calculations for me and explained to me why it burst. My tank water level was only out by 2mm from left to right. (3ft curved acrylic tank!)

    Yup, if the water touched the top of the glass on the front let corner, it was lower on the rear back corner by about 2-3 mm
