@Reedfish, yes its is a 4 bar Indonesian Tiger or D microlepis

You also get a 3 bar and a wide bar that looks like a Siamese tiger

I have found an ID chart online
But they all look so similar. Particularly microlepis and pulcher

I must finish the sheets I started on the Datnoids...

No... you will know a pulcher when you see one.... they have three wide bars, stripes on tail are a little different as well

Pulchers are also very, very rare at moment... if you manage to lay your hands on a pulcher it will probably be 2 or 3 times the price of the Indo... they extremely expensive..

The lfs had something called Golden Microlepis. A bit more yellow, but not hugely significant. Was double the price of my one.
    Forgot to take photos

I have never heard of Golden Microlepis..

Personally.. I think its a sales gimmick...
All Dats are yellow with black stripes when they are showing their true colours..
Some are a richer yellow than others ( varying from individual to individual) but as they grow they eventually all go same colour when showing their colours

They are however very shy especially as youngsters and tend to hide a lot and their yellow goes a wishy washy yellow when they do that
Sometimes its nice and rich.. which they say then that he is stable.
In one day he can display both tones of his colours depending on his mood

Only the American Dat is silver and the NGT (New Guinea Datnoid) has very mottled colours...

    Could be
There was a hardly a difference between this one and the one I got.
I asked the sales person about it (the main person who knows me wasn't there) and he said it's the label with which they arrived

I have been away for a few days - travelling for work.

When I got home yesterday, fed my fish on some blood worm and he picked one or two.
Feeding time becomes a bit of a frenzy. The Dollars get quite excited. And the Dat lurks around the bottom of the tank.
But a few worms drifted down, and he snatched them up.
Will have to feed some other sinking frozen food to make sure he gets some.

That's great, at least he is eating something!

Maybe just try and target feed him (so it gets to him until he gets bolder) a piece of fish or prawn
Once they settle in, he will dart so fast for his food that you dont even see him coming

You can also try sinking pellets
Two of Cesar's only want pellets and wont eat fish, the rest take fish
Mine only want fish or prawn for now...
Im going to try start putting pieces of pellet in the prawn...

    @MariaS
When I feed pellets or flake, it doesn't seem interested.
I tried some freeze dried tubifex worm - not interested.
But it did eat some f d river shrimp this evening.

    @Reedfish,

That is a very good sign, at least he it slowly taking to different things
You are SO lucky that he has started eating so quickly.. and didn't go on suicide mission
Wont take long and he will take other things

    It's quite a young one.
I have found with most fish, it's adults that are more likely to go on a hunger strike. Maybe because youngsters have less reserves, so they have to start eating quicker?

Yes... if I think of it... its been all the big ones that went on hunger strike for so long
The smaller ones started eating much quicker
