If you told me this, I would've told you straight to your face.... "You’re Lying", but since it just happened, & I've seen it...... It's unbelievable!!!

With all the mining activities taking place around here, we often have little seismic events and I assume this is what happened, so one of my neon light setups, balancing on the edge of a tank... actually fell into the tank...... and the light was still on (under water)???

I'm no electrician, but common sense tells me that it should've blown the power??..... Maybe, only because the other end was still above water??

It is in a tank with Goldfish fry, and they're all still fine.

The circuit would not have been grounded so thats why the fish are still swimming. Don't let the other end touch the water either.

    Just my 2c

Or dare put your hand in there....I just thought that with the total ballast submerged, it would go "BANG"......

I dropped a CFL globe in my sump on sunday, was still on until it hit the water. When i pulled it out it went back on but had a funny burning smell it. Chucked it away.

@Cheetah was the ballast in the water? Like completely submerged?

Yep.....the ballast is in the middle of the fitting (one of those plastic gray aquarium fittings) and only about 2 inches (as can be seen on the photo) protruding above water level..... I switched it of, took it out and put it on its side for around 30 minutes, and wallah!!!... it is back in its place and working.
