I saw bags of bark brown pieces at Plant land it sure has appeal as scaping goes and considering the weight it will make a nice wall for the back of a tank

But now for the pros ?
Tannis from this will be high , will boiling. Then purigen and charcoal get it under control
And the PH ? Of the setup
    Any suggestions will be appreciated

Nice question I can see the potential would be interested in knowing the answers as well.

Tannins would be very high I would assume, this should also drop the ph how low I don't know.

As far as I know the perigen and charcoal should take it away... But that's my two cents worth...

Bark chips sold at Gardening centres are almost always "Pine Tree Bark Chips" {is the "underside" a sort of reddish brown? } - it will float....and even worse is the Turpanols that the pine resin will release in your tank ....
Good idea.... No go if you love your fishies though... - try and source some Cork Bark - Safe and can be siliconed directly to the back glass...

please dont add bark or anything from pine trees to your tanks. i had an outside tank setup where i previously live, and there was a massive pine tree in my neighbour's back yard. the pine needles would end up falling in the tank and kill the fish, i coulnt figure out why the fish were dying till my other neighbour mentioned to me his grass wouldnt grow because off all the pine needles that were always falling in his garden and that they were acidic. i've also read that pine trees contain some form of menthol which is very toxic to fish.

this maked sense to me coz if you've ever chewed on a pine needle, you will know how acidic it tastes. that cannot be good for fish.

so i fitted the tank with a hood and sealed it and had no more deaths.

where i live now there are no pine trees around so my outside tanks are flourishing with no hood at all.

be careful what you put into your tanks..
