Treating driftwood

hi

is there any way of treatinging driftwood, i have two rather unusual pieces but they are brittle in someplaces and would like to save them or preverve them if i can.

any ideas ?

i was wondering if there i anyway to preserve the wood so that it does not break up any more , some sort of a non toxic paint or oil etc

 

You could try using a minwax sealer. I would be sure to test first before adding to a main aquarium or an aquarium with fish. Also a poly-fibre spray. Hope this helps. =D

 

You could also dip it in, or paint it with General Purpose Fiber Glass Resin. I've done this before, with no ill effect to the water or fish. It works very well and you don't notice the resin once submerged. I allowed the resin to cure for two weeks before putting it into my tank.
