Just as i got home (5 min ago) i discovered my 100l tank light was off! not only that but my heaters and filter! water was ice cold! Lucky no fish had died.

I turned to face my other tank with my two Balas in...... BRADS IF YOU READING THIS IT REALLY ISNT MY FAULT.
Our domestic worker removed my bala tanks cover:mad::mad::mad:. Look and looked but could only find one!

There about 50cm away from the tank lay the little bala. I am so upset really i am!

Do you think it 'jumped' out? or maybe one of my cats got hold of him?

    Unbelievable!

Shame TroyFish thats terrible. So sad when something like that happens.
Was the power to the tank just switched off or has everything packed up at the same time.

No what i think happened was that she might have bumped the extension that leads to my two point plugs. At least they still alive and looking well, going to lock that door for now on

    hi troyfish,

it is recommended for bala sharks that the tank lid be securely in place, as these guys tend to jump, given enough speed they can jump to a height about 6ft, i stand to be corrected on the distance but i do know its an impressive height...sorry, to hear about your loss mate...

    Lol alrighty then...

I noticed that my HOB wasnt working properly (Suction low). Removed the pipe and blew on it. Felt something move, at this stage i thought it was a piece of plant or cotton (who knows why). I then shook it but nothing came out. I then thought it might be stuck where you adjust the flow rate, turn that and heard a crrrrrunk! turn again and heard the same!

I then shook it one more time! Out popped my little Siamese finless and 2 serious deep cuts, one across the body (right through just skin holding it) and the other....basically a fin was holding its head. I was shocked! was still 'breathing'! Now hes in fishing heaven (down toilet)
