    Hey guys

I've been a member for a few months now. I did post a 'New member' thread when I joined and got the message like "Your post will be reviewed by an Administrator..." and don't have a clue as to what happened to it thereafter. Last thing I remember reading was the name: Rory. :p

So, anyways, my fascination with this hobby began with Guppies - so difficult to believe, I know. :cheesy:
It all started when I was a wee lad in EL, my mom had a Goldfish and a Black Moor. One day we were at the LPS and there was this guppy all alone in a tank, so mom bought it... for 30c, lol.
Few months later, guess what?? The guppy gave live birth to 'tadpoles' who all had random black and orange spots!! I thought all fish laid eggs, so this was the most awesome thing ever!!
We moved to PE in 1992 and unfortunately didn't bring the fish along. :sad2:

In 2005, one of my housemates, who used to keep fish before, bought a male Betta 'for my birthday' and took care of it for me. He moved and we agreed he take the Betta along.

I moved back to my folks' and last year October, as always, whenever shopping with my mom and we see a LPS... we have to check it out. She saw this black fish all alone in it's tank, yet 'dancing' so energetically, that she was too impressed and decided to buy it for me after I left the LPS and was taking the shopping to the car.

When we got home, she put it in a 5litre plastic jar and topped it up with tap water(back then, I didn't know any better either). I was furious about her buying it, since we didn't have a tank to keep it in.
The next day, I actually took the fish back and asked the LFS if he could keep it for me while I organise a tank, but he said it would fine for a week or two in the 5litre.
None the wiser, I took his word for it, bought some fish flakes and returned home with the fish, not knowing the first thing about fishkeeping... thus I turned to the interweb for knowledge.

Amongst the many sites I scrutinized, I discovered TASA... then it began... I felt that 'tadpole' nostalgic sensation overwhelming me again along with other strange new thoughts... "What does MTS mean?"...

Thanks to all of you, without whom I woudn't be enjoying the serenity, tranquility etc. of this hobby as much as I currently am!!!

My story will be continued in Member Systems... until then, keep it fishy!

The feeling is absolutely mutual. :)

Interesting to note, all the fishkeepers I've met are such relaxed and compassionate people. I hope the statistics never change.
