    Hello
Last week I picked up a pair of plecos. They sold as tiger plecos. I initially thought they were L66 or L333.
After purchasing them, I found them to be either

    L129 hypancistrus debilittera
    or
    L340 Mega clown pleco.

When I asked the LFS if they were wild or captive bred, he said they were captive bred.
I ask how long they were at the shop and said 10 days.
After purchasing them, I realized they were wild and were not eating :(

I am looking for more of these beautiful fish to join my existing two. If you come across them please let me know.
If you thinking of purchasing them, please be warned that they need to be QT and treated.

they excellent fish for small tanks (60L+) as they stay small in size and not as shy as some of the other plecs.

That was going to be my next question: size they get?

Now that you have sparked my interest, are you planning on breeding these if you get a pair?

Absolutely, After my vittata/L169 spawn this pass Friday, i am ready to try another plec species.

South Africa has a very small plecs species available and naturally at high prices. I aim to make more available and at a cheaper price.

If we have enough breeders in SA, there will be no need to import wild caught fish.
Hence less pressure on the environment
Save the wild, buy proudly SA

LOL Vez, I can't do this on my own. We all need to work together.
Not just for plecs, but for all South American Fish

I don't think the same laws apply to FW. I do not intend to go that big either.
If I am wrong I will be joining the Marcel struggle
