Thinking of starting first malawi tank

    Hi guys

    I am thinking of setting up a malawi tank for the first time.

    Where do you buy quality malawis in SA, preferably Cape?

    Would you guys recommend mbuna or peacock?

    It is a 7ft tank, so space is not a problem.

    I'd do peacocks. Not sure where's is best to buy them though. Hopefully someone else can help

    I had Mbuna many years ago. It was a nice looking tank
    But tbh the constant aggression started annoying me after a while.
    And also, you need to stock all in one go. If you add one or two at a later stage, they will get attacked. So you need to make sure that the initial fish you add, are the varieties that you want

    I experienced that adding more fish reduces the aggression. Aggression normally happens when there is enough free space for an individual to claim for himself. I started off with too little fish for the tank size and saw some aggression, after adding more, that aggression stopped.
