What thickness of glass is your aquarium made off? Mine has a 10mm base & 6mm sides & is a 315lt tank. I'm in the process of adding in more clay pots that will be resting on the back & sides. Do you think that the 6mm glass will stress & fail later. The tank has been running for 3years with no problems.
What do you think guys? It's a malawi tank.

I dont think you would have any problems at all with the glass. I have had tanks that were running for years before I got them and I have added rocks and stuff to them with no problems so far. so I really doubt you have anything to worry about.

    Hi Kathie
You should be fine. Remember that the pots and rocks become much "lighter" under water. Don't know if thats the right word, but you can subtract the weight of the replaced water from the weight of the pot etc.
    Hope it helped

I just bought rock for R50 a square meter. Looks like it about 45 to 50kg. Do you think my 10mm base will handle.

10mm glass is very strong. As long as the rocks don't drop and fall into the tank, it will be fine. Also just make sure you have a piece of wood between the stand and the poly sheet on the tank.
