Ay guys im really new to the fish keeping scene and just inherited 3 fish tanks a 60l with a 7 year old oscar a 30l with sum mollies and a 10 liter witch i use to breed sum ghuppies. This page has helped my friends in the past and I hope you guys can help me aswell.

Firstly 60L tank and a oscar is a no no, but u say its 7 years old that means it must be a good 30cm+ and at that size u need a minimum of 250L tank 4ft.

I looking for a 500+ litre tank for him but he came in the 60L and live in it his whole life

If his 7 years old u can see he was in a small tank.(NOT FAIR TO HIM)

his growth has been slowed down. must say his colours looks okey. try to get him a 4ft for now with a good diet and water quality he may get bigger and back on track..

 

The oscar looks very healthy though, but a much bigger tank is needed..

 

Does anyone know where i can get a 4ft tank for under a R1000 i just need a tank I already have a sump filter

 

u can get a new one for about R800(OPEN) R1200(SLIDES) on the east rand. but mayby there is someone the site that has a extra one for sale..

Ive bought a 140L 3 foot tank, will it be big enough for the one oscar to live in?

 

about how big do u think he/she is now

 

that can work for now but not as a grow out tank, u will have to get a bigger tank later
