I want to use the tank as my breeding/plant grow tank. I will soon be at the point of being able to offer cuttings at the rate my plants are growing in the 300l :amuse:

LOL was just choking dude, yeah it is nice to have a plant grow tank. I got a freebie tank last weekend it is 1000 x 500 x 500 it is a sump at the moment I might remove the panels and rather replace my quarantine tank with this bigger one. Already told my wife I am thinking of doing this and she said why, told her because it is bigger  will do a proper measure on it this weekend it is 8mm glass.

Update on this tank: Current inhabitants are 4 Neons (survivors from the 10 I bought a year ago), 1 female Dwarf Gourami (waiting for my male to mature to try to breed with her again), 2 Sterbai Corydoras (females I think as they are very plump), 5 Juvenile Trilineatus Corydoras, 2 SAE (10cm long taken out of my 300l) and a bunch of guppies.

My guppies are expiring regularly in this tank! They get thin/hollow bellied, lie at the bottom and then die! Only the guppies so not sure what the problem is.

Maybe the ferts you are using? What's the temp of the tank?

@Macmish - This is my low tech/no tech tank :amuse:. I don't dose any ferts. Temp was set to 26 on heater but thermometer said 28 when I did my water change yesterday so dropped it to 24 to see what happens. I will check the temp tonight. I am also going to get a 3rd filter to see if it helps. Currently have a corner filter and an internal filter. All running Matrix.

No worries. Will try and figure out what's going on. Maybe too much in-breeding. I have lost the occasional one to the same symptoms over the last few months.

I mentioned it in another thread but I have free swimming GBR fry! What amazing parents. They laid eggs last week and then moved the wrigglers a few days later and then last night there was a cloud of them at the front of the tank. The parents take turns fetching food and guarding the babies. Also, when they are newly swimming, if they drift away from each other the parents grab them in their mouth and spit them back with the rest. Very sweeet.

Does anybody know if corydoras eat fry or was it definitely the parents?
