So after a long battle with leaks I have finally beat it. I eventually replaced every single seal for every component in the filter and I can now confidently say it is 100% leak free. Thanks to Bearingman for making the custom and really odd shape seals.

So now it is for sale. Like I said, its in perfect condition now, running like a steam train.

Hi. Not interested in buying the filter, but why did your dealer not sort out the problem? I have 5 EX1200 and one EX2400. The EX2400 kept sucking in air at the plunger/primer seal, but they replaced it with 2 new EX1200 without any hassles. The EX2400 is now discontinued. Awsome filter accept for the humming noise.

I was probably in part my own fault, I was a little impatient.

I went to a local seal manufacturer, they made me new seals within 15 minutes, they even made seals where the filter did not have any. After that the leaking issues were solved, the humming you speak of even went away. All the seals cost about R50 to make.

The main issue was not the main seal, or the priming button, or even the motor head. We traced the problem to the inlet and outlet hoses. They were the original Tetra parts and still in pristine condition, but they just refused to be water tight. This led to water running down in-between the motorhead cover and the main seal body. So it looked like the main seal that was leaking, but in actual fact it was water coming from inside the plastic cover.

Naturally after the leaks were sorted, my wife refused the use of it again, lol, so it had to go.

I had the ame problem with the EX2400. It was not sucking in air on the inlet side, but somehow the motorhead was always wet. There was always a flow of airbubles going out the outlet pipe. I cleaned the prime button rubbers seals and the problem stopted, but as soon as I used the prime button it re-apeared. You cant get that seel in kit form. As the EX2400 was discontinued I asked them to replace it with 2 EX1200 and they did with no cost. Very nice service.

The seal company actually made me a seal for the priming button, after that the airbubbles entering the system stopped immediately
