Well I have the EX1200 and it is really good! It is super quiet, there is no sound or vibration at all. It seems to be filtering perfectly as well and mine is second hand! I'm sure the EX600 should be just as good. :)

I have the Dolphin C-700 (supposed to be the same). Pretty much plug and play. Sucked air a bit in the first week but that's gone now. I think the main thing is the smaller ones only have 2 compartments which might be limiting.

Thanks for the feedback ... just did a compare between the 600 and the 700 .. 700 seems a better investment long term if I want to move it around - yes the extra basket is great but a bit more head was the final swing vote and at on 3W extra I am in.

    Now affordable suppliers ?

Dophin = tertatec did not know that let me go and compare some more.

I also wanted the 600 but the 700 worked out cheaper and bigger (if I ever increase my tank size:)) . Sorry only know places in Durbs...

I use two ex1200 units on my 500L tank. Have about 70 Malawi's with no problem. Best buy.

i have the 600, bought it second hand and been running it for about 7 months. awesome filter. quiet, easy to mainting, good looking :)
you won't go wrong. obviously the bigger the better so if you can afford the 700 go for it.

Will the EX700 work on a tank of 60Litres where the focus is more on plants and scaping.
I don't want to buy the 700 rather than the 600 if the 700 is too strong
You obviously want gentle flow over plants or for me it is important
    What do you suggest?

I was using my first ex700 on an 80 litre tank and it kept it nice and clean, without hectic flow
