I want to try breeding tetras once my setup is complete, but want to know what species will have market or not. Please complete the poll and comment if species aren't listed

Yep, bleeding hearts are stunning when they're out in full colour. Not so easy to get them these days I think.

Once we have 5 species with 20 votes each, I will add a few comments. I had discussions with petshops and distributors, and the findings are quite interesting.

I am breeding 3 species at the moment and am actually considering reducing it to 2. You need a bit of tank space to grow out fry, it takes months. One of these is CPDs, there is a lot of demand for them as they don't travel well and so aren't the easiest to find. Additionally imported fish tend to die after a few weeks, I have found my locally bred ones live for 2 or 3 years. I am not making a fortune off them - about 4-5k a year - but at least it covers my costs and keeps me interested.

Re the white clouds- I love them but since they are so hardy and easy to breed they are readily available and cheap. I probably supplied half of Cape Town with them for free last year

The front runners I expected: Cardinal, rummy nose and CPD, the 4th place is for me a surprise. Didn't think the harlequins are so highly rated.

Disappointed in my personal favorite's performance..... :(
