Tetra plant complete substrate

Hi guys.
Not sure if this topic has been covered and if it has then please forgive me. I came across the product tetra complete plant substrate on the net and wanted to know if any of you have used this before when setting up a planted tank. If so, how does it compare to products like seachem who I think are the leaders in this field.

Any thoughts?

ADA Aquasol will argue that very strongly.

What you need to let us know is firstly what are you trying to achieve, and secondly, how budget constrained are you?

Thanks for your comments. Firstly, I meant know offence to ADA aqua soil at all. I am in the process of setting a vision 450 juwel planted aquarium. I think it’s about 1.5m. I just got my order of seachem substrate today when a friend of mine asked me if I know about tetra plant substrate.

So, before I go and offload these bags of seachem in to my tank I thought I should ask first.

 

@dash ... bit early to make the call .. Comparing substrates - please help with a protocol ...

Maybe in a few weeks I can have qualified result.

If you have both seachem and tetra complete then cap the tetra with the seachem he he he

Donno about that - I do believe there is another product coming out which is mined from the exact same place for half the price.....

Saw a sample of it the other day. Made by Cal aqua if memory serves me right.

also saw products that came in from China. Looks like ADA and has the powersand as well. Planted tanks have been setup with them - so i will wait to see how it grows in. From what i was told, like the Cal Aqua product, it does not leach ammonia during its startup.

 

Zoom you talking about CAL AQUA LABS - Black Earth Premium Black Earth Premium I was holding a bag the other day and could not get myself to pay > R550 for it. Wanted to use it for substrate compare... Our Newest sponsors - AD brings it in I think.

Side note:

I suspect that one of the substrates we do not have in SA yet is from UP Aqua, also a Japan made product, web has some interesting comparisons.

 

I just saw it in the LPS owners car. I can't recall if it was Cal Aqua or something else. We were talking about how much the industry has changed and Cal Aqua labs was mentioned a lot.
