TETRA Filter suppliers

Does anybody know the supplier of TETRA Canister Filters in durbz and if they sell to the public?

 

Maltons - no they do not. Good luck getting an account with them. Why cant the public just not stay away from the wholesalers - thats what they are - whoelsalers not retailers

 

there are some wholesalers that sell to the public, and prices are generally more affordable if you can get it, it doesn't hurt to ask, just like discount, everyone is free to ask, depends if you get it or not. but you dont ask, you dont get/know

 

not in the pet trade - the shops have such hissy fits if someone sells to the public the wholesalers all run 10000km when someone asks

 

Yeah, I don't think that you can dis someone because they are trying to get a better deal.

@darryn, i wasn't arguing, merely pointing out the fact that most people don't know, our buying system is still based on the idea of contract, so the sticker price is an offer, and accepting it closes the contract, but contracting parties are allowed to vary the terms eg. the price before acceptance
thats how the discount works
and same goes for the wholesalers, unless they signed mutually exclusive supply contracts, they can sell to the public, though its common curtacy not to, as it cuts out the middleman

I agree with and understand all the statements made above. For me, if I know that I can possibly get a better deal from someone, will try and persue that avenue. That's just me. I am probably just a cheapskate.

I know they dont sell to the public...was just asking if anyone ever succeeded.

 

@Henk: I was just meaning in general. As I don't want to start a flame war here, I will just concede defeat. You win.
Just remember people, you are not allowed to shop around and try and get a better deal anymore. The price at your LFS is the price you MUST pay, you have NO choice. That is the LAW.
We possibly need to have the constitution amended to reflect that.

I bought a Tetra external cannister EX1200 from an online shop (retail, not wholesale) shipped from JHB to PE. I thought the price was pretty good. Better than any LFS by far, including shipping! Want to know who? PM me.

 

best bet wito is too go to a small shop and ask the owner to order one for you, that way you wont have to pay the big mark-ups etc. i paid 1250 for my ex1200 i think its a fantastic filter super quite and has a 3 year warranty as well

 

+1 on the EX1200. It is a great filter and outperforms many others of similar spec. I actually have to back down 30% on the output...
