    Hey guys,

    I would just like to know if tarantulas are illegal to keep in the Western Cape as well as frogs?

    Well Tarantulas is illegal to keep in The Western Cape. The Climate is very well Suited for Tarantulas and most 80% of the Western Cape is Semi desert. Most of your North and South American Species are accustomed to the climate. The Best Person to ask is @Stalker if you want more info.

    You are not allowed to keep or transport any amphibians in the western cape.
    Some grey area might be if you find a frog on your property and then keep it.

    No amphibians, bearded dragons, tarantulas or veiled chameleons is allowed to be kept or transported in tge Western Cape. The Western Cape is extremely strict with tthe law regarding that matter. To apply for a permet, is impossible. The list of pets you cannot keep is to long to mention every one.

    @Stalker:
    Most of what you are saying is correct,except for the veiled chameleons.
    They are allowed to be kept,traded and transported with the necessary permits,which will be issued.
    Many people in the western cape keep veiled chameleons legally.
