    What are the prices for normal rectangle aquariums these days? I'm looking for about 200l but about 90cm long.

    Are those sizes made from 8mm glass?

    Where's the best places to buy it (quality and price) ? (cape Town region only)

    Depends on how patient you are. You get them from R300 to R2000 if you look around.

    Junkmail often has some really good deals and even here on the forum.

    I've looked on Gumtree and Junkmail a bit and got a few which I think is a bargain:

    100x50x50 Includes Fluval 404 filter, aquaclear powerheads and all electrics, on a cabinet and matching canopy: R1000
    1.2m x40x40 : R950
    1m x60x50 with steel stand: R600
    1.2m x 40x60 with nice stand and sliding panel top : R1200
    And this. I just hate it when I can't send somebody an email :\

    Not sure if I'll be able to get it for cheaper and if building my own would be better?

    With a tank this size. It would be cheaper just to try and buy second hand.
