Tank Plant fertilizer

Hi guys

I would like to put a question out on the forum about planted tank fertilizers, I am about to set up my 300L tank as a planted discus show tank and the lps I got all my goodies from sold me a small bucket of plant fertilizer but did not really explain how to use it or were to put it (mixed in to the substrata or underneath it)? As well I would like to know how safe this is for the fish? They have a tank in store that they say they have the stuff in and it has fish in it that look healthy enough but is there a longer waiting period before adding the fish than normal? also any other info on this will be much appreciated.

Its very out of focus but the blackberry curve was not mad with a great camera in mind. maybe you know the branding? Ill get a better shot when I get home.

 

Thanks for the pic - glad you did not try and "pronounce" it .. sad to say I have never seen it in a LPS. So no clue - maybe a fellow CT member knows about this..

 

most of it is in chines anyway and the English translation is not every understandable.

 

It's Laterite. Use as base layer.

Hey Lloyd, I saw this stuff at Pets aquaria in Kenilworth. Couldn't make out what it was, being in Chinglish an all!

 

I've used that laterite with good results.Mix with bottom layer of substrate and then cap the mixture with the rest of the substrate.

 

I got it at Pet Adventure R99 of Racecorse rd
