Any ideas for tank mates for my tank (see my signature). I have a 4ft tank. Any ideas. The reason I am asking is that because there are so many different types of fish out there and I cant make up my mind.

    Any ideas.

Someone said 'Bala sharks'; any other fish?

    Capacity in litres? 250l+?

My suggestion would be not to go for a 'Liquorice All-Sorts' tank, but maybe keep 2 to 3 species-type max in the tank and buff up the numbers instead. The mid-dwelling fish should be the primary fish thus their numbers should be higher than the rest. Bottom dwelling the secondary...their numbers should be the lowest. Maybe add some surface dwellers if you'd like.

Once you've decided on your fish for the tank, go think-up on how to plant & scape it. Once done, go for it. If you should go for it, it means you'll most likely have to get rid of some of your fish

You asked for an idea :)

Plants, Plants and more plants. Then decide on the fish afterwards. Decide which fish will best fertilize your plants. I've discovered that Sword Tails create a LOT of waste.

    ok cool....

first off, your clown knife is gonna outgrow that tank very soon. clown knives get up to 3ft in the wild, yet i have only seen 1 at 2ft in captivity but they have that potential.

your filtration is perfect?! how do you know? have you done tests on the water to see where the levels of nitrate, nitrite and ammonia are at? thats the only way to see how your filtration is working.

if i were you i would stick to 1 type of location where the fish come from...right now you have gouramis, syno, pleco and angel. 3 fish with very different water parameters.

but to answer your question, go with more angels or 2-3 more gouramis. nothing else.

BTW you are overstocked as is with just the clown knife in that tank.

Stay away from Bala sharks Pangasius Cat as they quickly out grow tanks. These should be kept in ponds. No Fishshop really tells you that. All this depends on the size of your tank and the number of fish you want to put in it.
