Tank Dimensions

    Hello every one. I recently measured the space in my lounge & found that I have 3 meters of space for a "Wall To Wall Tank". I am thinking of building a tank that is 9.5 feet, which is roughly 2.9 meters long.


    My problem is, I do not know how to work out the dimensions for this build in terms of Height & Width. I intend on using 10 or even 12mm thick glass.


    Can somebody please provide me with the Height & Width dimensions for this size tank?

    What do you mean 'you dont know how to work out the dimensions of height and width'?

    You can build whatever width or height you want.
    What fish you want to keep will also determine what width/height you need

    The higher you go the thicker your glass needs to be so for 12mm glass i wouldnt go higher than... 750mm and very well braced
    What fish have you got in mind?

    I want this tank specifically to be a display tank. Right now the options for fish are African Cichlids, Angels or Gouramis. Still undecided but leaning more towards African Cichlids.

    I currently have a 4ft which is a live bearer display/planted tank. Now I want somethimg for display in my lounge which will have a wide variety of colour and size.

    Sounds awesome can't wait to see your build thread on this :thumbup:.
    Look at South American cichlids too... They get bigger then Africans(Please don't mix them though) and have some stunning colours too
