Hi , I'm starting a new tank for breeding shrimp . I bought everything already from someone . The substrate , plants , filter , which he used in his tank . so I'm wondering if my tank still need to cycle ? I'm going to fill the tank with half of his water which he used in his tank already . so can I put my shrimp in the tank the next day or still wait for the tank to cycle . The tank is going to be brand new , the only thing never used before .

If you are just moving the filters from his tank to yours if will be fine, I would still let the tank run for a day or 2 just to make it settle. It might bloom and with shrimp inside it's a hassle to fix. If there's no shrimp you can just change water if this happens. If you got the filters a while ago you will have to cycle it again unfortunately.
