Hi guys, I want to move away from using Purigen and move to a more natural looking tank. I basically want to have give my water that tanith look it has in nature. What is the best way to do this? I want a cheap alternative to the bottled stuff, I hear you can use rooibos teabags which is also beneficial? I wanted to use peat moss but apparently it absorbs a certain amount of minerals from the water making my EI useless. Any suggestions?

Simply add a nice piece of driftwood that's not cured yet.

Rooibos tea ... or english tea for an extra kick worth fine. Been playing with coffee beans once already brewed .. less red than the rooibos.

Id say rooi bos tea as it is easy to put in and take out once your desired colour is reached . Just remember that the darker your water the less light reaches your plants.

Water colouring is nice, but yet, lighting becomes an issue.
After adding driftwood water has become very darker but very nice.

    Added reflectors to intensify light...
