Synodontis x2 - Stellenbosch/Cape Town

I have three Synodontis, two of which are definitely eupterus, and one which could be a eupterus but we aren't sure.

The two we are selling are the largest one and the unidentified one. We wish to sell them because, in their current group of three, they are squabbling a bit and we'd like if they could go to two separate tanks. These catfish originally belonged to a fishkeeping friend who unfortunately had to downsize on her tanks and we took these guys in. Half of the money received for these two catfish will go to the original owner.

The unidentified one is about 10cm, while the larger eupterus is around 13cm.

It should be mentioned that these catfish are fairly indestructible, having survived power failures, some time on the floor, and bossy tankmates with the previous owner. They have adapted well to different tank conditions quite easily. They eat everything from frozen lancefish stolen from our arowana and shovelnose to cucumber stolen from the plecostomus. We have found them to be very active, but unfortunately we can no longer keep them together peacefully. They leave the other fish alone and would probably make good tankmates for large cichlids.

We would like to sell them for R40 and R60 respectively, though these prices are negotiable and trades may be accepted.

We are located in Stellenbosch during the week, and can only effectively transport on weekends when in the southern suburbs. Buyer shipment would be appreciated however.

The top onle is a Synodontis Nigrita I think.

Hi Guys,

Gilbert asked me to check my wise books about the first Synodontis and although I really know very little about Synodontis, I would agree that it appears to be Synodontis nigrita, that is according to the German Aquarium Atlas by Riehl and Baensch.
