Hi, i am looking at the hw303 filter with uv ligt, my lps 's price is R 1500.00 . Is this a good price, its for my new tank, 120x45x45. The weekend, me and the 2 boys wil do the Nutrifeed/palm peat substrate, thanx in advance .

 

is that the 1400lph pump? if so you can get the 2000lph edition think the HW404B or so for the same price. the smaller one goes for R1100

Just a note on the pfp. Remember to let it soak for a day before adding it to the tank.

 

warm water and the nutrifeed and then let it soak like @Firefly said... make sure you cap it properly otherwise you will have some serious tannin leaching

 

PFP if not done properly = algae party

 

purigen and charcoal work wonders getting rid of the yellow water

Would you be interested in a second hand Dolphin C1000 cannister. do you have heaters as I have two 300w heaters aswell.

 

Thanx you all, got my palm peat/nutri today, then the lps show me their dritwood, ishhh! . Left with 3 nice pieces, on my way out, i walk into some TETRA PLANT COMPLETESUBSTRATE, got n 5kg. I want to put it on the palm peat, before i cap it.

 

I would rather lay down the PFP and then the Tetra substrate and cap it. Try and get an even level across the surface of the PFP and then cap it.
