Please stop this obsession with pump ouput in terms of lph. It means nothing when you have to pump 1m as opposed to 2m as opposed to 3m.

Measure your piping, add 30cm for 90 degree elbows and 15cm for 45 degree elbows. Then you have a minimum target to aim for

I'm loving the Hailea pumps at the moment. Not to expensive and a much better design than the AquaH20 pumps

What overflow are you running and what height do you need to pump the water?

Overflow is 50mm piping. Height with bends is 2.2m.

2.2m is the total height & the return is 25mm.

    Its drilled.

Kathie, you can get Hailea from most decent pet shops. Also look on the marine sites, Hailea's are often used to drive skimmers

is the height from the pump to the top for the tank 2.2m?surely its not 2.2m I'm only 1.7m tall if your tank it 2.2m off the ground then how will you clean it?

as for the return pipe it doesn't matter what size you take just remember the smaller the pipe you use the faster the water will spray out the top.

2.2m thats the total hieght that the water has to be moved. Thats the measurement of pipes & bends.

if I'm not mistaken you only need the total height the water needs to be moved to calculate head loss on a pump. Not the total length of the return pipe. I know the bends can effect the pump but their effect is relatively small. Is the sump located on a lower level than the tank ie outside or a floor below?
you only need to measure the height from the pump to the top of the tank in a straight line.

Sump is on the floor. I was looking at lifetech, waterhouse, flotek, hydor & most of them are available at builders.
