I think of all the fish I've ever kept, Kissing Gouramies are even more stupid than the common Goldfish.... They've just got that "ignorrant" expression and absolutely no routines..... for instance.... they will start eating at the surface when they see me..... no food added yet, but they're eating air.... (etc. etc.).....

The most intelligent fish (IMO) would be Oscars... They absolutely know who I am, They know who my wife is and they respond accordingly.

What, in your opinion are the dumbest and most intelligent (aquarium) fish..... (not talking Dolphins here)

I think parrot fish just have a dump expression but are very nice, and i think malawi's and siamese fighters are quite intelligent.

My goldfish in my goldy tank are the easiest to trick (won't call my fishies dumb) i can trick them with my finger which they think is food any time im near the tank. Smartest, my 3 betta ladies, they know who i am and they know what supposed to go on at what time of the day

OK for me guppies are some of the less intellegent fish maybe because they use 98% of their brain power thinking of only one thing :)

Some of the smarter ones are Drawf Puffers, knows who I am, actually get bored if the tank is not interesting enough and live secret lives as snail assisans.

For me some of the most stupid fish are giant gouramis and the most intelligent are discus.Which made my dad angry cause they would all swim and beg for food when I was infront of the tank but when my dad came they all would hide.

You shouldn't have said that @Vis. I can see a whole bunch of women using that comment against us men.

Aha but here is the plan. Take her to observe a male guppy for 10min and after that she would think you are a genuis becuase you spend so little time courting her.

hmm i think tinfoils and bala sharks are clever enough, when i shake the salt cellar at them they just look at me, bored. but let me take out the tetra bits and you see them get all excited and start to dance around for food..

clown loaches on the other hand get totally bored if their scape stays the same for too long.. they like exploring places and nooks and crannies.. i change my scape every so often and just change it back to the original landscape after a week or so... just to keep them interested and poking around.

i think rainbow sharks just have the most amazing personality, recognizing you very easily and will nuzzle your hand, swim between your fingers while you busy in the tank, and if you slip your hand under him, in the water, he'll rest in the palm of your hand, no fear, he knows and trusts you...
