hi guys i got a pair of Cichlids. I have had them for 1 month and i got about 100 fry allready, they all seem to be serviving, I cant have 100 fry every few months , what am i surposed to do with that many fish. They even mess my jewels up to protect there fry and attack my hand on tank cleaning day......
How can i stop them breeding . Can i add a hoplo or brisselnose to eat the eggs? I dont want to get rid of them they are stunning fish with good temperments when not breeding

Reafer – I know of a vetrenary surgeon that specializes in micro surgery that is capable of sterilizing female fish. He has performed many successful operations on selected Cichlid species. So I will only be able to tell you if the operation would work for your Chchlids if I know what species they are.

You shock me Zafgak.... Take standard human condom, fill with water, put fish in it. Close condom with tie-strap. Place condom with fish back into tank.... No more breeding......

The best practice is to take the fry, add them in a bag with aquarium water and leave it in the fridge...the fry will go to sleep and eventually die.

If I am not mistaken clove oil sedates them, so make sure you use high dosage
