Depends if you're wanting planted or not. A fancy 120L is an awkward size as you probably already know you cant put any show stoppers like Angelfish/Discus. If it were me and I was going planted : Apistogramas / tetras / corydoras / Maybe a gourami. If I wanted to breed something = shell dweller cichlids or convicts. If doing oddballs/different tank = Wave maker with a pile of round rocks with the inhabitants being gobies and loaches

I'd go for the Apistogramma tank with a couple amano shrimp and Ottos. If the Apistos are happy they will breed and be able torl raise the fry which is always a nice experience. Aren't some of the Apistos harlem breeders which means that you can have mor than a single pair for more life in the tank.

This is a taller tank if I remember correctly? It so, a pair of angels or discus would be great as a centre piece display fish.

The tank is 500 high. 400 wide and 600 long. Think discus would work?

Perfect for a pair. Maybe 1 or 2 Cory's for the bottom and 1 or 2 Otos. You could have a few Cardinals. But, preferably just the discus to avoid long term disease problems from other fish.
