    My tank has been cycling for two weeks now and I'm planning on adding some fish during the next weekend. Had my mind set on about 5-6 neon tetras and a few bottom feeders but will appreciate any other suggestions on stocking the tank. It is well planted and has a heater.

    @Ozymanndius i also have a 30litre tank.

    i have;
    4 x blue neon tetra's
    4 x orange neon tetras
    1 x common pleco
    1 x clown loach
    3 x Bloodfin glass fish

    Probably a bit over crowded but i do water changes every two weeks and my tank has been great. i would also like to see what the rest of TASA recommend.

    @wrenchy, I can already see some people flaming you for having a clown loach in that small tank. They do not even recommend it for my 100l (3ft) tank. They get very big and would be unhappy in such a small tank.

    Anyways, @Ozymanndius, You have to decide if you want a community tank or more specific. For such a small tank I'd recommend some white clouds or danio's, and maybe corys. Not sure how big tank they need. I won't put in a pleco becuase they alse get big and sh!ts over the whole place.

    my suggestion is a few white clouds (6) and some ottos (3). not overstocked and the fish stay small.

    @Razer2007...I never Flamed you dude... I PM'd(When you PM'd me for advice) you explaining why Clown loaches are completely unsuited for your 3 footer...not just size,but social needs as well...so lets just get that out there....

    @wrenchy... Mate,both your Clown Loach andyour Pleco get to be longer than your current tank is in length - consider their proper housing soon - you cant keep a Great dane in a bathroom sized enclosure its whole life...

    And now back to the thread and @Ozymanndias - 6 to 8 Neons(Why not go for it's pretier cousin,the Cardinal though?) and 3-4 Ottocinclus would work very well in there... Our soft-ish Pretoria water would suit them well....
    Other good options for stocking could be: 6 -8 harlequin Rasboras and 3-4 Panda Cories... A small school of Threadfin Rainbowfish and a pair of Sparkling or Honey Gouramies.... these days you often see a nice selection of smaller loach species that would suite this tank as well...

    @azurekoi Thanks for all the input @ivan liking the idea of the white clouds and ottos. would it be possible to have the white clouds and maybe one either dwarf gourami or sparkling gourami with the ottos?

    @ivan, @razor2007 & @azurekoi - been doing some research on the white clouds. They say that they tend to jump out the tanks. My tank is an open top, will this become a problem?

    @azurekoi - thanks for the help. Thinking I will go for 6 white clouds and then later on get 3 ottos. Would a dwarf or sparkling gourami be too much for the tank?

    @Ozymanndius - I can third or whatever the whiteclouds. I have a 30L tank with 8 of them in there and they look stunning! Especially under my growlux light - it high lights their colours and where they look boring in the shops, these guys look amazing. Plus Ive had them now for 4 months and not one single issue.

    @Wyvren - thanks for the input. Just re-enforced my decision to get white clouds that much more
