    Hi All

This morning I found 6 eggs on the glass. I have had my corys about a year now and its the 1st time they have laid eggs (as far as I know). How long do these take to hatch? My tank is heavily planted but I still want to get a net breeder and see if I can raise any of these little guys (assuming the eggs arent gone when I get home and that they hatch). What do you feed baby corys? Will algae pellets do? I also have an algae covered rock and some Java moss that i can put in the net with them.

    Thanks

If there's eggs left(with only 6 - someone has been nom, nom, nomming them) - transfer them to the net breeder... bout 2 days to hatch and another 36 to 48 till free swimming.... BBS is the way to go,but by all means chuck the moss in there with them - they will feed of infusoria clinging to it... Liquifry for egglayers also dik usefull....

Thanks azurekoi. I have a BS hatchery and eggs ready. I have just been waiting for a reason to use them. I suppose Daphnia is too large? I have a few hundred of those. But I will get the BS going once/if the fry hatch.

They will only be able to take sifted Daphnia(the teeny weeny baby ones) by week 2 to 4 depending on growth rates... 3 to 5 tiny BBS feeds a day usually gets them going and growing nicely... + whatever they can get off the plants you put in there helps as well. Change the plants around every two days or so once the fry are big enough to see properly(you dont want to transfer fry via plants back into main tank)
When i used to breed Corydoras quite a bit, usually by roundabout a month old,I put in some Tetra Tabimin for them as well...but any good quality sinking tablet will do....

Eggs are no good. I will give it another try if/when I find more eggs.

My sterbai lay eggs periodically, but in a community tank, they don't last long.

Finely mashed egg yolk is a good food for tiny fry.

Sorry I think I was a bit ambiguous. The cory eggs are no good, not the BS eggs. But thanks for the advice
