what is a normal bio filter ? is it a canister filter, internal power filter, internal air driven filter, sump ??? there is alot of "bio filters"..... chemical filtration should always be the very last for of filtration.

dude, lol, dont you get it ? ok let me ask this another way, the bio media of the filter ie bioballs, ceramic rings, sponge etc, where is this ??? You r answer here should be in my canister, or in my hang on back filter, or something like that, not bio filter as all of the above can be called a bio filter !!

i'm guessing ceramic rings, round white rings that lay on the bottom of each chamber in the biofilter to house the benifisual bacteria (spelling).

ok,there are 3 chambers, the water pump is in the middle with sera siporax under it,the water on the right side comes in from a small holl then over middle chamber, the water on the lef comes from the surface water then makes it's way to the central chamber from a small holl.

[IMG] hope this helps a bit.
