    Ladies doing great.

Alium is loved by bumblebees (and a nest of spiders)

Started to make another DIY insect-hotel.
What an old whinebox isn't good for hahaha. 7,5 meter of bamboo uptill now (where did it go to ????)

This is such an interesting thread. And I am sure there are some POTM winners here.

I believe honey can taste very specific to the area in which it is produced, due to the types of plants that the bees harvest the pollen from.

Seeing those "heuning koeke" (direct translation is honey cakes) brings back memories. Way way back as my younger self, we used to chew those honey cakes until only the wax was left.

I doubt it if today's children will ever experience that sensation.

I’ve always wanted a bee hive in my garden and seeing this makes me so jealous. Does anyone know what the laws are regarding keeping bees in residential areas and if it’s allowed (my moms neighbor has one but not sure if it’s “legal”)?

For now all I have is a bee hotel for the smaller solitary bees. I bought it at the farmers market at horwoods farms and I think I have my first resident.:p It’s crazy how tiny some bees can be as some of the holes in the bee hotel are not even 2mm big.

You'd be surprised! As I've only just entered adulthood I feel I can still speak for the kids, and I know many (including myself) who have had the honour of enjoying the honey cakes lol!
